Malcolm MAL-G

Mal – G
This week on #SmileysWorld, we feature another artist who’s no stranger to the blog. He’s enlightened us on who he is and what he’s about the 1st time we met him. Now he comes back onto our screens to tell us about what he’s been up to lately.

For those who don’t know, Mal-G is not only a rapper by passion, he’s a Graphic Designer by day and freelancer who works for a company around Nelspruit too. So we can immediately pick up on how he hustles on a daily basis, which is strong if you ask me. When all these things are put together, they help fund for his work and also gains him some much needed experience across the board. He’s definitely been investing his time and money into his latest projects which he believes “the art needs patience to be great art”. He hass so long dropped a new single titled ‘Represent’ that features a rapper by the name of ‘Beardo’, also from the same hood as Mal-G. This single is the first that will be on his upcoming mixtape that he, Mal-G has produced too. So we also know now that he’s a producer too, above everything that has been mentioned so far.

He wants to showcase his producing skills to the rest of the masses and wants people to know and hear his own sound that will be nothing like you’ll ever hear on TV, Radio and other typical sound that’s available today. “I wanted to be more creative and challenging to myself, sonically, but at the same time produce enough vibrations to make you dance wherever you are” says Mal-G. His recent work can be found on File Boxer, which is basically another file sharing portal that is easier to navigate on. Other sources include Soundcloud where he has his own page for your listening pleasure at any given time and Reverb Nation, all under the profile name ‘Mal-G’. He is also thinking of expanding his reach to Datpiff and is still working on it. He says that, “My plan is to get my music as far across into the sphere as I can, I’m still winning people’s hearts and ears”.

One thing which he says has changed about him is how he approaches situations more wisely now. Since he’s based in Nelspruit, he still wants to discover more talent to work with, “Because that alone shows growth” he says. He still gets his brand name out there through doing live performances in and around Nelspruit. So mentally he’s on point and is careful as he sees things clearer now. What we can certainly look forward to in the next 6 to 12 months is his mixtape release. In a nutshell.
On that note, he’s also currently one of 2 artists I know from the Bushbuckridge area that have entered the ‘2016 #Backtheartist’ competition hosted by Jagermeifter and needs our votes to make his dreams of working with the best in the industry come true. Voting can be done at http://backtheartist.co.za/mal-g/ and clicking on the ‘vote’ tab. And it’s free to vote, so please help make one’s dreams become reality. Thank You!
